Register for the Reading Game at the Library or online.
Rules of the Reading Game. You can also track your reading on a log.

Registration is required for all programs unless indicated & all programs are free of charge. Finishing times are approximate.
 Parents are asked to take siblings, who are not registered for programs, to a different area of the library. Children of all

Summer Reading Game
Ages 5 & older from Wednesday, June 11-Monday, August 11
AGAIN THIS YEAR-you have the option to track your reading online here (available after June 11) or keep your own reading log which we provide. Read or be read to for 1 hour to earn a sticker and 2 hours to earn a raffle ticket. The game ends with a celebration on Tuesday, August 12 at 4:00 - the winners will be announced & prizes awarded. Full reading game instructions here.
Raffle tickets must be in by Monday, August 11 at 6:00. Do not need to be present to win.

Book Buddies

Ages 3 & up, Mondays through Thursdays, July 1-August 5 at 3:30-5:30
Read with or be read to by a Book Buddy. Sign up for 30 minute sessions.
Adult must stay in the Library with young children. Photos.

Musical Mother Goose Storytimes

Ages 12-30 months, Wednesdays at 10:15-11:00
 Session I: July 9, 16, 23
 Session II: July 30, August 6, 13
You may sign up for one session only and then join a waiting list.
Registration began Monday, June 23 at 10:00

Drop In Preschool Storytimes

Tuesdays in August at 2:00
Thursdays in July & August at 11:15
Preschoolers with adult, no registration (July 31 will be bilingual)

Book Swap
During July & August bring your used paperbacks to the Library or to the Bedford Village Pool (good condition only) to swap for “new-to-you” books. Children of all ages are invited to participate.

Patrons of all ages are invited to send a favorite photo of themselves or family members as they enjoy their summer reading. View them on our website and in the Library, where patrons can vote for their favorite photo. The winner will appear in the Fall Newsletter. Submit online to by September 20. ABCs of Honeybees, Crafts, Candle Making and Tour the Court House

Learn about bees from an expert, enjoy a special bee craft, make candles from beeswax and have the opportunity to tour the Court House with Lynn Ryan from Bedford Historical Society
